Icecream, Ice buckets, and pretty tea time...
Hello from me,
Well, spring has arrived in New Zealand! My Queen of the Night tulips are in full bloom and my David Austin roses have been budding up nicely. We’re been waiting patiently for the dahlias to break ground - there are pinks and apricots and they're due by Christmas. I’ll be sure to snap some pictures when they open.
If you follow my Instagram or Facebook, you might know that we’re working on releasing another book in 2020. Much of this year will be taken up with shoots and securing collaborations with partners. I’d like to share more about my shoots, so will be releasing monthly updates as we progress throughout the year.
Have a wonderful day,
Sandra xx
Latest collaboration - Kapiti Icecream
We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Kapiti New Zealand to showcase their premium icecreams and other products in our next book. I’ve been dying to show off their exquisite icecreams and sorbets - isn’t this colour gorgeous? It’s Black Doris Plum & Crème Fraîche.
Shoots This Month
October will be a busy month for shoots, and we'll be branching out in to food. We'll shoot Kapiti's gorgeous icecream and also macarons from J'amie Les Macarons. In September we shot some beautiful apricot David Austin roses (image above), combined with recycled glass bottles, which I’ll talk more about next month. We also used some of my most treasured silverware, which you can see hints of in the stunning pink roses shoot (at the very top).
How to make an ice bucket
Ice buckets are an exquisite addition to any function or photoshoot, and are very easy to make. In this guide, I share just how I've made ice buckets in the past, and a few examples of different buckets I've both created and purchased.

For Octobers 'Board of the Month' I'm selecting Pretty Tea Time, a collection of dreamy images I've saved to inspire your next afternoon tea.
