Winter Solstice Celebration
I love all of the seasons although winter quite possibly sneaks in as my favourite! With short crisp days and chilly evenings, a winter solstice celebration was the perfect opportunity to gather with friends and share a heart-warming meal.
The undeniable beauty of these velvety roses along with the twinkling touch of soft candlelight, adds a gorgeous level of richness to our celebration. I was also excited to make use of my tartan plates from Williams Sonoma (normally available online from September onwards).
When deciding on a menu to share with your guests, I always feel it is important to check on dietary requirements, then subsequently design your menu to include one or two elements that will nicely complement your theme.
On this occasion we enjoyed:
Starter: Fennel and orange salad w pomegranate seeds
Main: Roasted chilli scented alpine salmon on a bed of garlic leeks; Crispy roast potatoes
Desserts: Winter solstice pudding (a version of my Christmas pudding), w custard & whipped double-cream; Creme caramel; Meringues with berries & cherries
I hope you enjoy the winter season and the cosiness of being cocooned indoors with family and friends.
With love,
Sandra x
