Holiday Themes, While We Wait & A Creative's Desk

The excitement builds…

I can’t believe it is the end of October, it is just a glitter sneeze away from the most beautiful time of year!

Like most years, I have attempted to combat some of this busyness by planning for the festive season in advance. As someone who loves Christmas, this hasn’t been too much of a challenge for me; my office is already housing a new collection of fabulous decorative Christmas trees!

This month, I am excited to share four wonderful Christmas themes to help generate some early festive spirit, a collection of absolutely gorgeous roses I have been adoring, and I share a peek into the creative workspace where all my styling ideas begin to evolve.

The end of this year is more special than most because Dreaming In Petals is nearly here!  There has been a slight delay in shipping, but we are excited to share that the book is now only weeks away.  We’ll keep you posted!

Wishing you a month of warmth and beauty.

The holiday season is creeping closer and that means special festive events are just around the corner. The general themes for each of my events were decided well in advance, which gave me plenty of time to find a collection of exquisite items which perfectly fit the colours of each theme. This year, every theme revolves around tartan…the simple beauty of tartan provides the perfect canvas. In this shoot, you will see how I have used varied dinner sets, gorgeous flowers, cute Christmas trinkets, and a matching sweet treat (or two!) to match each tartan canvas.

Waiting for flowers to bloom is such a conflicting experience…part of me wants to hurry them up so the tantalising wait is over, but my patient side knows I must let them take their time if I am to fully reap the rewards. My garden roses are currently at the top of the waitlist and I am so excited to finally see their beauty unveiled! In the meantime, I am content with this absolutely gorgeous collection of commercially grown roses. I hope you adore their beauty just as I do.

One of the many benefits of working as a stylist is I have the perfect excuse to constantly surround myself with beautiful things. My desk is no exception to this, and I adore having a workspace which helps to inspire ideas and creations, but which also provides me with a sense of peace as I work. Flowers and beautiful stationery pieces are an absolute staple atop my desk, while other elements change to reflect the seasons or the holidays…I was particularly excited to utilise the cute Christmas decorations seen in these images. I hope you enjoy seeing the space where my styling ideas come to life!
