Spectacular Reds, Winter Musings & Mid-Winter Dinner Party

Wonderful winter…

It may be dark and cold outside but what a perfect excuse to seek some beautiful delights to help us through the wintery months. The cooler temperature provides the perfect opportunity to stay toasty warm inside, perhaps with a craft project on the go, and a hot chocolate within arm’s reach.

In this newsletter I share my recent shoot of breathtaking red roses; the decorative result of my latest creative winter weekend; and showcase the beautiful styling of my mid-winter dinner party.

I hope your month has been full of joy and beauty.

Stay safe and warm.

I simply adore the colour red - it is vibrant and confident. My vast collection of red lipsticks affirms my dedication to this colour! I recently shot the most gorgeous red roses…what could be better than combining my love for flowers with my love for the colour red. These roses paired perfectly with a collection of my tartan blankets, and various vases and candles - their glorious beauty took centre stage in my home.

I’ve always enjoyed spending time on craft projects - I love brainstorming new creative ideas and watching them take shape. This particular project provided the perfect opportunity to repurpose some older preloved materials. For this recent creative spell, I utilised beautiful paper pages from an old book, along with ribbons and glitter, to create decorative garlands and a collection of table favours.

It’s no secret that I love to host a dinner party, especially one that is mid-winter themed! The dark and moody lighting of the winter season provides an ideal opportunity to line my table with an abundance of candles. The cooler temperature is perfect for incorporating warm soups and rich flavours into my menu.
