Breathtaking Autumn Flowers
Due to our climate here in New Zealand, each season’s distinct qualities are very pronounced and Autumn has loudly proclaimed it’s arrival, with a mass of warm Autumnal tones and the dreamy change of light. The intensity of the Summer sun has given way to cooler mornings and evenings and everywhere you look, your gaze is met with hues of warm ambers, pumpkins, yellows, deep russet reds and enveloping browns and coppers.
If you’re familiar with my work, you’ll know that my usual colour palate often favours pinks and the more classic tones, but this month, I’ve been enjoying experimenting and warming to the Autumnal hues. Orange, for instance, is a colour I wouldn’t normally feature too heavily, however tempered with rustic tones of fallen leaves, seems resplendent with warmth and depth.
In the following collections you’ll see I have used an array of depthy colours and textures to add a rich and velvety quality + some additional inclusions such as fruit, berries, acorns, twigs and leaves which seem to ground the vibrancy of the flowers within the arrangements.
