Cocktail Hour at 'The Kaminski Weston'
Every Friday night, my husband and I like to enjoy cocktail hour at our home, which we affectionately refer to as ‘The Kaminski Weston’ (it’s a combination of mine and my husbands surnames). We will make whichever cocktail takes our fancy that evening, and drink them together in our sitting room. It’s time we spend decompressing after a busy week.
We aren’t big drinkers so each cocktail needs to be special - a combination of beautiful glasses, ingredients, and other details I enjoy putting together. Also, glasses should be correct for the type of drink being blended. I like products that are beautiful as well as delicious - our cocktails need to be a feast for the eyes. One of my favourite recipes is The English Garden.
I have been very excited to shoot Scapegrace products after seeing their beautiful black gin, which changes colour when mixed. Scapegrace is a New Zealand company producing a range of very nice gins and vodkas.
Almost all of the various glasses used in these shots are Ralph Lauren, with the exception of one pair which is Riedel. The silver trays are a combination of Ralph Lauren and antique, and the silverware and striped jug are antiques. The glass footed bowl is vintage Dartington, and the silver cocktail shaker is Ralph Lauren. The grey Kosta Boda votive is from Peters of Kensington, miniature planter used as an ice bucket is from French Country Collections, red glass decorations and wrapping paper from Amazon, ribbon from Scarlet Ribbons, and the tartan tablecloth (which is actually a scarf) is from Jcrew.
