Recreating Old-World Elegance

Growing up, my father worked for an oil company. We lived all around the world - even in Brunei and Abu Dhabi. My father loved collecting, and like me, loved quality items. Our house was always filled with beautiful things. When he passed away a few years ago, I inherited much of what he had held onto.

He was a collector of English antique sterling silver, and loved tea caddies. You’ll notice in this shoot, I’ve used a few of these sterling silver caddies and other silver items. They look very pretty styled next to these gorgeous antique roses.

For this shoot, you’ll notice I’ve used a base palette of silver and pink. Everything else works to complement these two tones. Using these colours, and the accompanying silver treasures, has given the illusion we are in another world, perhaps in a beautiful parlour 100 years ago.
