Life at the Kaminski-Weston
Hello everyone! My name is Cougar and I am the spokescat for The Kaminski-Weston. I’m a 14 year old chocolate Burmese, and my twin sister Mini is a lilac. The two boys are both 15; Knight is a cream, and Merlin is a blue.
We have been guests of this fine establishment since we were kittens, and surprisingly we have had the same staff since then. However, I’m not quite sure if the staff understand our importance and standing in the cat community. I am sure if they did, we would have better service than what we currently receive. We feel that if we constantly correct and communicate our complaints with the staff, they will improve…eventually! In saying that, one of the staff left a few years ago, I guess he just wandered off like Knight did one day…although he does come back every now and then to check if the remaining staff are looking after us correctly. As the saying goes, “it’s hard to find good staff”. I guess it's nice to see him but he doesn't stay long enough.
I prefer to never leave the property, but the others go out occasionally for a quick walk. We enjoy a range of meals, my favourite being Kangaroo, and if it’s off the menu, sometimes I will refuse to eat until they get the message! I don’t like to meow about it often, but they can be lazy.
Merlin is the most popular, but he crosses the line over and over by being so loving and playing cute. This can put additional stress on the rest of us to up our game. He is Alexander’s best friend and gets so much special treatment. He works the room like a champion. Mini is quite good at this too, but lacks some of the follow through. She is a model and knows all the moves, but Knight says she is no longer the beauty queen she used to be since she recently had some teeth removed. Knight likes the outdoors best. He comes in when it rains or gets cold. His size is quite dominant, so we don’t like it when he gets annoyed because the staff are not quick enough to give him his daily treat of dried baby salmon. We meow with laughter when Sandra is interrupted every time she is in a zoom meeting - Knight will force her to get up and give him the salmon, or he will threaten to do something less than desirable.
We like to stay together as we find our requirements are met better as a group than when we just wander about aimlessly. I must say, in between snacks, we do have some adequate places to sleep and lounge around the house.
Not sure why it has to get cold, or rain for that matter, but if I decide to go through a different door I’m fairly sure the weather changes. If it doesn’t, I feel disturbed and wander the house meowing loudly and making a fuss, to show my disappointment toward the staff for not organising things better.
In general we are an extremely friendly bunch of cats, we show loads of enthusiasm and like to show Sandra how much we like her choice of furniture by using it all day - at least she has good taste!
