We have reached true winter here in New Zealand, the sky is a little grey and the temperature chilly. There is no better time to brighten your home, to make it beautiful and warming to the soul.

For this recent shoot I managed to obtain the most stunning roses in various shades of scarlet red - I’m sure you will agree that they are absolutely breathtaking! They certainly made my home pop with colour. The candles provided an additional layer of warmth to the room, and the gentle fragrance from both the candles and roses was a delicate gift for the senses.

Winter reds are perfect for the season. They command to be front and centre, and quite rightly so! These roses need little accompaniment to impress - a simple yet elegant vase or jug to house these beauties is all that is needed. Incorporating a little complementary colour by way of a tartan blanket adds softness and a gentle ambiance.

Working with these roses brought great joy to my day, and I hope you equally enjoy viewing these beautiful images.
