Summer Harvest Dinner Party
This week, I invited friends into my home for a Summer Harvest dinner for 12. It’s been a very busy time lately, so it was a good excuse to take a small break and enjoy the company of friends.
Stone fruit featured throughout my Summer Harvest theme, and I sourced peaches, apricots and nectarines from Jackson Orchids. Pears were from Twisted Citrus.
For flowers, I chose an assortment of different pinks and apricots which matched the fruit perfectly - you’ll spot dahlias, roses and cosmos, lisianthus, zinnia, chrysanthemum, and even a few blackberry and snowberry branches.
Summer Harvest Menu
My menu for the evening included the following:
Starter - Watermelon and peach salad.
Mains - Basil-roasted chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, crispy twice-cooked roast potatoes, roast fillet of beef with herb crust, aubergine with herbs and crispy garlic, orange glazed carrots, and rocket salad with walnuts,
Desserts - Chocolate mousse, honey-roasted Otago stone fruits, and butter cake with Otago peaches and fresh raspberries.
If you were planning a dinner party for friends, what would your ideal menu look like?
With love,
Sandra xx
