February Garden Beauties

Garden Flower Shoot 199.jpg

I took the opportunity to shoot more garden flowers this month as part of my Summer Series, as my garden has had much more to offer. March is officially Autumn and we’ll be saying goodbye to Summer for another year here in New Zealand. In other parts of the world, Summer is slowly on its way!

Summer Planting

To recreate these looks for yourself, you can prepare for next Summer by marking times in your calendar for the below:

Dahlias - If you’re in New Zealand, Dahlia bulbs can be planted from mid-August to late December. Choose a spot in the garden which gets plenty of sun.

Hydrangeas - Spring or Autumn are best for planting Hydrangeas, so you can begin to start thinking about them soon. They do quite well in a shady spot.

Roses - Winter is when Roses are planted, and if you haven’t already, take a look at my favourite variety David Austin.

Pansies & Violas - You can plant seedlings in Spring in a cooler spot in the garden.

Herbs - Different herbs have different planting times, and are good additions to any garden.

The best part of planning your upcoming planting is choosing colours and styles - that’s where the fun can really start.

With love,
Sandra xx
