Winter Garden Flowers

Winter Garden Flowers

Winter gardens, much like the season itself, have always held a special kind of beauty to me.

While Summer blooms are a riot of exuberance and carefree colour, there is something calming, and gently resolute about Winter flowers.

Delicate winter varieties seem to triumph against the chilly odds, offering up delicate and often uplifting blossoms.

I’ve grown many plants within my winter garden from bulb and there is something that really appeals to me about the idea that the bulb contains within itself all the nutrients that it will need to grow and flower; I like the enduring quality that they seem to represent so well.

I’ve been enjoying watching the garden bloom and unfurl with the many different expressions of winter, so thought I would share some here with you. You’ll spot Daffodils, Hyacinth, Erlicheer Jonquils, Pansies and Hellabore amongst some perennial favourites too. :-)

Have you got any Winter flowers making an appearance this year?
