Magical Staff Christmas Dinner
As the year draws to a close we were absolutely thrilled to finally gather with colleagues and celebrate at our annual staff Christmas dinner. Having been working-from-home for the last 3+ months, it was indeed very special to meet, chat and enjoy a lovely evening together.
Our theme for this year’s celebration was a Woodland Christmas, the simplicity and beauty of a traditional Christmas - greens, whites and golds. Even though it is quite late in the season for Peonies here in New Zealand, I was extremely fortunate to source some luscious white blooms, along with roses, to style our centrepieces; these were complemented by soft golden candlelight, delicate pine cones, and little fir trees. When possible (and only if appropriate) I also love to include a food element as part of my table styling. On this occasion mini Christmas mince pies were the obvious choice… yes, a sneaky taste test while plating is imperative! Everything looks more beautiful with a dusting of snow, or in this case, icing sugar.
Our extraordinary caterers, The Great Catering Company, served a delectable 3-course meal. I was quite excited when I noticed they had thoughtfully laid the table allowing a spot for our esteemed guest, Edward the Owl, to also join the conviviality of the evening. You will spot Edward in the images, what do you think? - isn’t he handsome!
Christmas, especially this year, is a time for reflection, celebration, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Wishing you a magical Christmas day and wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas!
